If your child stopped speaking, wouldn't look you in the eye and completely ignored the world around them, what would you do? In her new book, Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism, actress Jenny McCarthy shares her emotional story of diagnosis, hope, faith and recovery -- a journey many thousands of parents now face.
In 2002, Jenny gave birth to a beautiful baby boy she named Evan. As an infant, Evan was full of life, making eye contact and smiling, but soon things started to change. "God was giving me many hints about my son, and I didn't quite see them," she says. "So I know that he had to wake me up with two really big ones."
Jenny says the first of those "big hints" came on a typical morning when Evan was 2 1/2 years old. I'm pleased to welcome you to Generation Rescue, an organization and website that changed my life soon after my son Evan was diagnosed with autism.
Like many of you, I spent late nights searching the web for answers to help my son. When I happened upon Generation Rescue's website and read the words "Autism Is Reversible" everything changed. Hope was restored. I took decisive action and started to see almost immediate changes in Evan's behavior and physical symptoms.
I hope you will take the time to learn about biomedical intervention, find a doctor, find a rescue angel, learn about the success stories of others, and learn about vaccinating safely.
I'm here to offer you the same hope that Generation Rescue offered me. Children can and do recover from autism. Recovery is real!

Vaccines & The Escalation of Autism

If you look at the vaccine schedule, and you can go on www.generationrescue.com and that’s a really good website… the vaccines that you received in 1983 were ten. Today they’re thirty-six. Thirty-six vaccinations compared to ten back in the day.
A lot of these kids seem to be born with a little bit of an auto-immune problem. Maybe they can’t really detox some of the toxins in the environment as easily. For instance, one of the things is glutathione. Glutathione is everyone’s bodies’ natural anti-oxidant that gets rid of toxins and viruses and stuff like that. We’ve noticed that a lot of these kids have low glutathione.
So we say, “God, if these kids are born with low glutathione, a lower immune system, then how are they supposed to now take thirty-six vaccines when we never had that before?” So it’s real easy when you look at that list of what it was like, and what it’s like now, to go, “Ah!
